Episode 86 – Glory Days of Gold (Irritable Vowel Syndrome)
Welcome to Episode 86 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
Week three of the new Scottish League 2 season is now in the history books and East Fife have become road warriors, recording their second straight away win and even keeping that rarity for them that is a clean sheet, following a hard fought 1-0 victory at Albion Rovers.
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon delve into the match and the main talking points coming out of it. What can we read into the start of the new season? Probably nothing much just yet, but that won’t stop us!
Is this a sign of things to come? Good away, poor at home. Can they only beat teams that begin with a vowel? Or is it more that they’ve got the beating of poor teams and despite all of their flaws, East Fife aren’t the worst team in the league and will pick up enough points along the way to be mid-table dwellers? Can they be more and what do they need to get them to that point?
We chat about all of that and take a look at the comings and going down Bayview way this past week.
