Episode 114 – Glory Days of Gold (The State That We Are In)
We’re back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
Two months ago hopes were high amongst the Bayview faithful. East Fife were the bookies’ favourites to win Scottish League 2. Nathan Austin was the bookies’ favourite to be the league’s leading scorer. The excitement and anticipation for the year to come was palpable. Then the season started.
Five games into the league campaign, East Fife now find themselves languishing bottom of the table, winless, with the second-highest amount of goals conceded and the joint fewest goals scored. So where has it all gone wrong?
Michael, Lee, Gordon, and Aaron are back to chat about all of that, the season so far, the latest loss to Dumbarton, and what lies in store. Can this weekend’s Albion Rovers cup tie be a springboard to a change in fortunes? How concerning is the situation? This is a squad most agree should most certainly be at the other end of the table, so why aren’t they? How much does Greig McDonald shoulder the blame for the current plight and how big a loss was Scott Agnew to the coaching staff?
There’s a lot to discuss!
