Episode 64 – Glory Days of Gold (End Of An Era)

Welcome to Episode 64 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.

It’s been a big weekend down Bayview way. A disappointing loss at Clyde saw East Fife cut five points adrift at the bottom of the Scottish League One table. That result on Saturday proved to be the final straw for the board and Fife boss Darren Young was relieved of his duties on Sunday after over 1600 days in charge.

Michael, Lee, and Doug are joined by Scott Inglis from the East Fife Mail to chat about the weekend’s developments and look ahead to the future.

Was this the right time to pull the trigger on Young after a second half capitulation in such an important game or had the team shown signs of turning the corner? Can a new boss come in and turn things around to stave off relegation? Who should that man now be?

We chat about all of that and a lot more, including a look back at Darren’s time at the helm at Bayview and the importance of this next appointment to the future of the club.
