Welcome to Episode 65 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
It’s been a big week or so down Bayview way. A cup exit at the hands of a Junior side, the return of a previous manager to the helm, and his first match in charge saw a battling come from behind point earned. There’s a lot to delve into and Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon do just that in this episode.
East Fife’s Scottish Cup loss to Banks o’ Dee was a sickener. How much of a shock was it though, and now that our proud record of never having lost to a non league side has been blown out of the water three times over the past five years, where does this latest defeat sit in the lows of the club’s history?
East Fife were looking for a new boss before that loss. How much did it hurry up the need for a replacement? Either way, a new man is now in the hot seat and that man is Stevie Crawford, who returns to the club for a second spell as manager after more than a decade away.
What can we expect from Crawball II? How much has he developed as a manager since he was last at Bayview? Was he the right man for the job? And most importantly, can he save the Fife from relegation? The guys chat about all of that and a lot more, plus break down the highs and lows from his first match back in charge, a home draw with Alloa.
